I am a location independent entrepreneur, who runs a 6 figure business from a Macbook pro (usually from my couch in my yoga pants*)… or a funky coffee shop across the globe.

Today I live a pretty remarkable life.
I don’t count vacation days, I go when (and whenever) I please.
My office is anywhere I can poach some solid wifi. Turns out it’s pretty solid from my couch in my yoga pants as it is the Bahamas.
And, I turned my bucket list my to do list.
In the last few years alone, I’ve checked off more than most people will do their entire life.
But… it wasn’t always this way.
I was born 3 months pre-mature to a 15 year old mother in a small town in the midwest (where there were more cows than people). The doctors said I had a 5% chance of survival.
Not long after birth, it was quickly discovered I also had a severe disability called Cerebral Palsy. A movement disorder often caused by brain damage or premature birth.
Most children diagnosed with CP, spend their lives in well chairs struggling to even speak or support themselves physically.
I spent most of my entire childhood in therapy just learning how to walk. When other kids went to recess, I went to therapy. Every. Single. Day.
I was the most likely candidate to be “average.”
IF, I was lucky.
But average be-llllllows.
99% of the planet snuggles up to being average.
It’s predictable. That path is well worn.
Awesome, adventurous, and blazin-your-own-trail? Well, that’s a little dangerous.
In the fall of 2012, I discovered that although all my dreams, goals, and ambitions were different… when I procrastinated, bailed on them, or doubted myself, I could trace the root of the cause back to one thing: FEAR.
I had spent most of my life being sheltered and protected. The result? I was a wimp. I possessed no grit. Zero ability to problem solve, think on my feet, or bail myself outta risky situations. Let alone the cojones to get into them in the first place.
In 2013, I created The Year of Fear Project.
Everyday for a year, I wanted to do something that was:
- Outside My Comfort Zone
SPOILER ALERT: that experiment totally transformed my relationship with fear and is what I now credit as a major turning point in my life.
Today, after over 700+ (and growing) self assigned comfort zone challenges I now write, teach and speak to others about how to overcome self doubt and fear so they can design and live a live THEY love.
I’ve been quoted in major media, written for mainstream sites, and featured on some of the biggest personal development blogs on the internet.
No one ever warns you that you’ll be inspire by your dreams… and also terrified by them.
That nearly all the best moments and memories you’ll ever create will often never be inside your comfort zone.
And if you simply CHANGE YOUR RELATIONSHIP with fear, it will impact every area of your life… for the rest of your life.

What disability where you born with?
I was born three months premature, to a 15 year old mother, with many major medical complications — including partially developed lungs and diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. Doctors gave me a 5% chance of living when I was born. They said if I did survive, I’d never go on to live a “normal” life (whatever that means)
How does that disability effect you today?
Luckily, I forfeited most of my childhood to surgeries and learning how to walk. With the assistance of a team of incredible doctors and therapists, and the support of my family I was able to make a lot of early progress that help me have a somewhat normal teen and adult life in comparison to others with Cerebral Palsy.
I still have an odd “gate” that strangers asked me about. I occasionally have a lisp (Cerebral Palsy is brain damage). I have zero flexibility and tight muscles – especially in my legs. And my back is in constant in pain because of the misalignment with my hips and weak muscles.
I’m now working to try and resolve the back pain more. It’s seemed to get worse as I’ve gotten older.
What kind of location independent business do you run?
I do digital marketing and strategy for online businesses. Although my expertise is somewhat wide, I heavily consult in the areas of product launch strategy, email marketing, and sales copywriting.
