Kendra Wright is part entrepreneur, part self-help junkie, and part rebel. She is the creator of The Year of Fear Project and has completed 850+ self-assigned comfort zone challenges. She has been featured in many mainstream media publications and interviewed on podcasts around the world. In her former life, she led marketing for some of the biggest music legends in history and toured the country with rock and roll bands.

When she isn’t poaching wifi from quirky coffee shops or growing online businesses, you’ll find her traveling the country in an RV named Limitless.

MORE ABOUT KENDRA WRIGHT

Today I live a pretty remarkable life.

I don’t count vacation days. I go when (and whenever) I please.

My office is anywhere I can poach some reliable wifi. Turns out it’s pretty solid from my couch in my yoga pants as it is in the Bahamas.

And, I’ve turned my bucket list into my to-do list.

In the last few years alone, I’ve checked off more than most people will do their entire life.

BUT… IT WASN’T ALWAYS THIS WAY

I was born 3 months premature to a 15-year-old mother in a small town in the midwest that had more cows than people. The doctors said I had a 5% chance of survival.

Not long after birth, it was quickly discovered I also had a severe disability called Cerebral Palsy. A movement disorder often caused by premature birth.

Most children diagnosed with CP spend their lives in wheelchairs, struggling to even speak or support themselves physically.

I spent most of my childhood in therapy just learning how to walk. When other kids went to recess, I went to therapy. Every. Single. Day.

Honestly, it was pretty horrible. It took many years to see the wealth of opportunity in my disability and crummy childhood.

A big turning point for me came in an unexpected little… experiment.

I had spent most of my life being sheltered and protected.

The result?

I was a wimp. I possessed no grit. Zero ability to problem solve, think on my feet, or bail myself out of risky situations. Let alone the cojones to get into them in the first place!

In the fall of 2012, I discovered that although all my dreams, goals, and ambitions were different… when I procrastinated, bailed on them, or doubted myself, I could trace the root of the cause back to one dirty little F-word: FEAR.

I decided to create The Year of Fear Project.

Every day for a year, I did something new, different or outside my comfort zone. The jury is still out on if this idea was totally bonkers or brilliant. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

(You can read more about The Year of Fear Project here).

The project transformed my relationship with fear and was a major turning point in my life.

Today, after 850+ (and growing) self-assigned comfort zone challenges I now write, teach and speak to others about how to overcome self-doubt and fear so they can design and lives THEY love.

I’ve been quoted in major media, written for mainstream sites, and featured on some of the biggest personal development blogs on the internet.

There is a big problem with what we’ve been told about chasing our dreams.

No one ever warns you that you’ll be inspired by your dreams… and also terrified by them.

Through my experiences, I now teach others how to face fear, take risks, and build a badass business and life on their own terms.

Like any creative and ass-kicking woman, I keep myself busy with a handful of different passions and pursuits.

You can see the most up-to-date details on what I’m up to on my NOW page.

I hope that you read my story and feel inspired. I believe everyone has their own version of “Cerebral Palsy.”

Our greatest strengths are found in our greatest struggles if we are willing to look for them.

To finding yours,
Kendra
